Eden Roc has tremendous experience in all aspects of custom home building and renovations. Not only is their attention to detail second to none, the process of working with them during construction is always a pleasurable and positive experience. Dan has found the best qualified subcontractors to work on his projects, and it shows, project after project.

Scheduling, cost estimating, workmanship, communication are all of the highest order. But ultimately it has always been working directly with Dan Nowell that has made working on construction projects especially rewarding for me. He is one of the most personable general contractors I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with, but also builds world class projects to boot. He has a special knack for communicating with his clients that makes referring him such an easy process.

I give Dan Nowell and Eden Roc my highest recommendation possible.

Dan and his whole crew at Eden Roc are about as good as it gets.  Eden Roc has done work for me on residential units as well as my commercial space here in San Francisco and i could not be more happy with the work, the experience, and the finished product.  When problems arose project managers were available and great about trouble shooting and getting to a solution quickly.  The crew was patient and able to give great advice on everything from planning to finishes.  Their level of experience shows and they are able to personally recommend many of the best vendors in the bay area.  You won’t be disappointed with Eden Roc.

As a person entering my 70th year I have had many homes and undergone numerous renovations. All were tolerable but full of the typical frustrations most have encountered. Until I met Eden Roc/Dan Nowell and his crew. I cannot imagine renovations being done more hassle free, and with such attention to detail. Dan has built a guest house and, later, a wine cellar for me

. The first was a very substantial project. He helped find the right architect and always had sound advice for dealing with the various permitting issues. Invariably, he had excellent suggestions to make to the architect and later the decorator. They mentioned numerous times what a delight he was to deal with for them. In the same timeframe, I was heavily involved in renovation that my daughter was doing in Marin. The work was fine. It was not, however, the same flawless project experience from start to finish that I have had with Eden Roc.

The construction process was perfect, even down to the (trivial?) detail of how clean the premises were left each day (we lived there during construction). Recently I moved to Yountville and had a very substantial landscaping project done. This was not a project appropriate for Eden Roc but Dan took the time to look at the landscape architect’s plans and made several absolutely key suggestions that everyone else had missed. His communication skills, his ability to work with others are simply unmatched. I cannot recommend Dan and his crew highly enough.

Having worked with Dan on several remodeling projects I feel that I have “found the best”.  For future projects I have only to call Eden Roc – wouldn’t think about a bidding and interview process – for what, to save a few bucks but risk not finding the quality and ease of working with Dan.  And that goes equally for the Eden Roc crew (professional, friendly, minimally disruptive) and the office staff (Emily get’s it done).

For myself what is different about Dan is that he is your partner, not just your builder.  His creative design abilities improve the project, often adding perspectives and solutions that our architect and landscaper didn’t see.

I would love to have the opportunity to work with Dan again, next time on new construction.
